"Sometimes in the name of "progress" or "convenience" people do away with items which can uniquely preserve a sense of family continuity.
My parents and relatives have preserved for me, old records, Bibles, Hymn books, Photographs, they heard me say, Don't give that relic away; a family heirloom, a clock, an old quilt, a scrapbook, a portrait framed with shells, an old chair, can bring back fond memories to your children or their children.
For twenty years, birth announcements, death notices, clippings of family events "Klema, Gresko" were preserved by me. May you enjoy "My Labor of Love".
~ Sincerely, Sue (Gresko) Conklin ~ March 1979".
Let us follow her example, she set a wonderful standard, and we can continue her work and all of the others who have worked and strived to preserve our heritage and make us who we are. The following website is my contribution to the "Labor of Love"
This site is dedicated to our ancestors whose memories we cherish, and whose lives and heritage have made us who we are.
It is a very large project which is only in the beginning stages. After doing some research I found that there is SO much information, pictures, and amazing stories out there about our families... but unfortunately there are limited copies of each and only certain people have those copies. Therefore, I began to brainstorm ways that this information could be preserved and shared with all family members... and this is one of the ways that I could do! Brian & I are very excited about this project and hope that through it we can extend our family ties and enrich our families lives.
We encourage family members to actively participate in the site, if you have any information which will help us get to know our family better, such as pictures, biographies, letters, family information, dates and places of events, event certificates (birth, marriage, death, etc...), or anything else you'd like to see included in this site, please send it to me! We also have a place for everyone to share their family news and photographs, Family News. Contribute your part of the story to make this site the best it can be. If there is a certain person or line that you are curious to know more about, I'd be happy to help you research, or go to the Research Forum and see what others are working on and how you can help.
All information is only accessible to related family members and researchers who believe their lines tie in, to gain access register for a user account below.
RESEARCHERS - there is an Alphabetical Index where you can see the names of the people I have information on. If you would like to know more about a line you are researching contact me.
